Calling all brass players and percussionists - fancy a blow? Why not come to one of our rehearsals for a warm welcome? For more details, see our "Want to Join Us" section below.

We are not tied to the traditional brass band format so players of any age and standard are welcome on any brass instrument.

Your feedback via our contact page is very welcome

Ebor Brass Ensemble is a community brass group based in York. It was formed in 1980 by a small group of friends for players who enjoy playing entertaining music both for our own pleasure and that of our listeners. We play at a range of events in York and the surrounding area.

Our funding mainly comes from performing at various functions during the year and from collections whilst playing carols around York's streets at Christmas. We play a range of music that we hope will entertain you as much as it does us…….. Above all, we play for FUN!!.

We provide music, uniforms, lessons and instruments (if you don't have your own) for all members of the band FOR FREE. Our current members range in age from under 18 to 80+ and we are happy to welcome new players of any age or ability, particularly cornets, baritones,  and basses. Contact us if you fancy having a go.

To book the band for your event, or if you would like to play with us, please use the e-mail form on our contacts page, call Brian on 07866 313108  or come along to one of our concerts or rehearsals for a chat.

As we are a non-contesting band, we are not tied to a strict band format so we are able to welcome all new players.

We have specific vacancies at the moment for cornets, baritones and horns. Please look at our players page for other gaps in our line-up. Corner seats may be available for committed players.
